The World Health Organization (WHO) defines a pandemic as a disease new to the population that seriously infects humans and spreads easily and sustainably among us. It also cannot just be widespread; it must be infectious. We at PandemicGreen hope that green living is infectious and sustainable and plan to use this site as the hub for all infected. Consider this a new outbreak in a movement that has been slow to transmit until recent years.

Basically, we launched this site after sitting at In N Out in Tustin Marketplace and witnessing the incredibly wasteful nature of our fellow diners. We watched people idle in their sports cars in the drive-thru line, drop unused packets of salt and napkins on their way to the garbage, sip on plastic water cups and throw away cardboard trays. Granted, we did some of that, too, but it seemed that we were the only ones to sit there and reflect on it. We even made promises to bring our own cups, cut the clutter, downsize our closets, buy recycled. We marveled at each others’ steps to go green (pure vegetable oil transmission! walking to work! biodegradable cleaning supplies!) and realized that other people should be just as excited as we are about saving our planet!

A few hours later, we came up with PandemicGreen: a means to spread positivity and healthy, resourceful living habits from individual to individual. Catch the infection!
