Another is fear. Fear is the key to manage a restless population. Fear of suffering outright violence, but also from being shunned socially. That’s one consideration, yes. Another is fear. Comment on Cash for clunkers, or my plan to save the auto industry by Tom Elliott http://pandemicgreen.com/2009/07/28/cash-for-clunkers-or-my-plan-to-save-the-auto-industry/#comment-150 Tom Elliott Wed, 29 Jul 2009 18:04:03 +0000 http://pandemicgreen.com/?p=229#comment-150 I agree, scrapping the big guys has got to be more wasteful than letting them die a natural death. I find it most amusing that no one considers the problems with switching from fossil fuels to giant batteries which are filled mostly with lead and corrosive chemicals and are extremely energy intensive to produce. Everything's a trade-off. I agree, scrapping the big guys has got to be more wasteful than letting them die a natural death.

I like this video that shows the importance of recycling cell phones: http://www.secret-life.org/cellphones/ Many charities collect cell phones to help raise money as well. A partial list can be found at http://www.waukeshacounty.gov/page.aspx?SetupMetaId=11042&id=11214 Goodwill now also collects computers for free recycling. Great post!

Comment on Discover ‘Eco-tainment’ by E http://pandemicgreen.com/2008/06/04/discover-eco-tainment/#comment-106 E Fri, 12 Dec 2008 23:19:21 +0000 http://pandemicgreen.wordpress.com/?p=23#comment-106 Hmmmn.. I'm wondering if I can pitch the "EcoTainment" feature film project I wrote to Discovery. I'm a filmmaker & I've been trying to make my film "Apocalypse Near" on my own since 2006; I recently wrote it into an interactive novel & am about to release it as a serialized web podcast, but I now think it would work best as a TV show.. I've scoured the Planet Green website but really don't know if they'd do anything as edgy as what I've got.. Doesn't look like they take submissions anyway (if they do I can't find it). More info about my Green feature film / book / web project is on the "EnvironMENTAL" website I created after a clinical death experience I had in 2004.. Take a look & see if you think anything I'm doing is worth looking at or passing on: http://www.consciousconsumers.net Thanks for being part of the fight to save the planet from the unconsciously consuming humans ;-> Hmmmn..
